Another Year of Outstanding A Level Results at Becket Keys

 

Proverbs 2:6-7 (NIV):

Becket Keys Church of England School students and staff are celebrating another excellent set of exam results; with average grades better than ever before and more students getting top grades and being accepted at their first-choice university.

The school has students heading off to a wide range of interesting and prestigious destinations. Below are a few examples:

Rebecca Lyle achieved three A* grades in Chemistry, Mathematics and Further Mathematics and one A grade in Mandarin. Rebecca will be studying International Business with Mandarin at Queen's University (Belfast).

Deputy Head Girl, Lucy O'Hare, achieved two A* grades in Business and Psychology and one A grade in Mandarin. Lucy will be commencing a degree level apprenticeship with JP Morgan. Lucy said: "I feel so grateful to have had the support from teachers and access to the school facilities. Some days I stayed at school for long hours (7am to 7pm) just to stay in working mode. I couldn't have done this without Becket Keys - the school, the teachers, its community."

Max Lawman who joined the school as an external student two years ago, achieved two A* grades in Mathematics and Further Mathematics and one A grade in Computer Science. Max will be commencing a Mathematics Degree at Loughborough University. Max said: "Massive thanks to everyone at Becket Keys for creating a wonderful and safe environment with loads of support!" 

Head Boy, Daniel Saunders is going to City, University of London to study Banking and International Finance after achieving one A* grade in Mathematics and two A grades in Further Mathematics and Music. 

Erin Pelham, also joined the school two years ago and is now off to study Drama at University of Exeter. Erin achieved an A* in Sociology and two As in Drama and Media Studies. 

Isabel Evans achieved A* in English Literature and As in Media and Sociology. Isabel is off to continue her studies of English Literature at the University of York. 

Anna Uings achieved three As in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics, she is going to University of Bristol to study Chemistry with Industrial Experience. 

Isabel Keefe is going to the University of Bristol to study Medicine. Isabel achieved three As in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics. 

Jenny Bradley also achieved three As in History, Mathematics and Psychology. She also got a B in Further Mathematics. Jenny is off to the University of Bath to study Psychology with work placement. She said, "Thank you to all my teachers for everything!"

Head Girl, Lois Parish, achieved two A grades and one B grade in Drama, Psychology and Mathematics. Lois will be studying Psychology at Loughborough University. She said: "It has been a privilege to be head girl at Becket Keys Church of England School. Thank you for all the support you have given me."

 Sam Manning is going to the University of Warwick to study Politics, Philosophy and Law (PPL) and said: "Thank you to Becket Keys for the most amazing learning journey. The teachers and staff are second to none and help you to reach your full potential." Sam achieved two As in Business and Politics and a B in Religion and Philosophy. 

Another student who joined us for Sixth Form is Maddie Cruz. Maddie achieved AAB in Drama, Music and English Literature. She is off to Southampton University to study Music. She said: "I am so grateful to be going to my first choice of university to study Music. Thanks to all who have helped me get there." 

Maddie is one of many who got into their first choice of university with 91% of all Becket Keys students securing their first choice destination. 

Izzie Brooke is going to King's College London to study History. Izzie achieved three A grades in English, Literature, History and Religion & Philosophy. Izzie said: "Becket Keys has been amazing for the whole seven years." In total, this year, sixteen students achieved straight As (or better). 

Rhianna Hicks is going to Surrey University to do International Tourism Management. Rhianna said: "Over the last seven years I have had an incredible time studying at Becket Keys and I am so proud to become an Alumni Student of such an amazing school. Thank you very much to all the hard-working staff at Becket Keys." Rhianna achieved three C grades in English Literature, Geography and Media Studies.  

Aneshka Carroll is also going to Surrey University to study Music. Aneshka has achieved BBC in Music, Religion & Philosophy and English Literature. She said: "Thank you for all the support over the last seven years. I have had the best experience that I could have asked for."

Isabella Scharvona is going to study Film at the University of Westminster having achieved AAB in Media, Music and English Literature. Isabella said: "Thanks to all the teachers who have supported me throughout the years; I could not have done it without you."

Particularly popular courses this year have included Psychology and Computer Science. We have ten students going to study Psychology:

Other exciting destinations include:

  • Ellis Baker will be studying Football Coaching and Management at Wembley Stadium.
  • Jess Martin will be studying Popular Music Performance at the University of West London.
  • Sam Pain will be studying Forensic Sciences at South Bank University.
  • Daniel Coombs has an apprenticeship with Willis Towers Watson (WTW) to learn to become an Actuary. 
  • Harry Buckland has a job with Aldwych Consulting.
  • Saskia Bashford has an apprenticeship with Benefit Marketing. 
  • Emma Blake is going to do a costume design course. 
  • Alice Savill is applying for a role with the Metropolitan Police. 
  • Emma Blake is doing Costume Design at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Our school community has once again demonstrated resilience, dedication, and unwavering commitment. Today, we stand proud of our most successful year group yet, achieving more outstanding A and A* grades than ever before. Their hard work and determination have truly paid off.”
