Sixth Form Uniform

Alumni

Dress Code

How our staff and students dress is important to us. Our Sixth Formers should be the shining example of adult elegance and style – setting a prestigious example to the rest of the school. Our Sixth Formers understand the importance of how they present themselves and, as a result, are well placed to assist our staff in encouraging students lower down the school to dress smartly and maintain the high standards that have been set since we opened in 2012.

To this end, students, like members of staff, have to subscribe to a formal dress code which reflects their significant status in school.

All Sixth Formers:

  • Wear a lanyard at all times
  • Wear the Sixth Form specialist items from our uniform supplier: Smarty Pants. These are all marked below with an asterisk(*)
  • Wear an enamel Becket Keys badge
  • Wear other uniform as detailed below.

If students need advice at any point, they should speak with Mr Peggs or Mrs Course. It is better to ask in advance and avoid embarrassment!

PE kit

Core PE - Year 12 (from September 2022) only

All students take part in Core PE and are expected to follow this dress code:

  • Our uniform supplier will sell you our official PE kit*, however, there is no expectation that you will wear this. You might decide to purchase some of it only, such as the hoodie or top.
  • Suitable footwear, including socks. This includes appropriate footwear for specific surfaces, such as the sports hall, Astro turf or indoor tennis/squash courts.
  • Other clothes are to be one colour, with purple the preferred choice (but not compulsory). If you wear a different colour with some purple included, this combination of colours is the combination acceptable. Each item can be a different colour, so you could wear blue shorts and a red top.
  • Any brand logos should be small. Those that appear on the chest or sleeve are acceptable; those that are across large parts of the front or back are not.
  • Professional or international team kits are not allowed. However, you are allowed to wear the kit of a local team that you play for.
  • Safety comes first! You must ensure that anything you wear is suitable for the activity you are taking part in. The PE staff will not allow you to participate if they think it will not be safe for you to do so.
  • Nails must be of a suitable length, hair must be tied up if necessary and jewellery should be removed beforehand if it could be unsafe.

As with other areas of uniform, please ask a teacher if unsure before purchasing and/or wearing an item or making a change to your appearance. This saves embarrassment all round!
