Record-Breaking GCSE Success at Becket Keys
Students Shine with Highest Ever Grades and Exceptional EBACC Results
Colossians 3:23-24: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”
Becket Keys Church of England School is celebrating yet another set of excellent GCSE results. The average grade across all subjects is even higher than last year, and more students in this 2025 cohort have achieved Grade 5 passes (or better) in English and Mathematics than ever before! A record 87% of students were entered for the EBACC, with over 75% achieving a pass in all five EBACC subjects.
There are a number of individual success stories that result from notably high performance. Almost a third of all grades achieved are 7 or above, and our students achieved a total of 81 Grade 9s! This “rare grade” (achieved by only 3% of students nationally in each subject) demonstrates performance above that of the old A*.
Two of our top-performing students were Evanthe Antoniou, with nine Grade 9s and one Grade 8, and Joshua
Eida, with eight Grade 9s, one Grade 8 and one Grade 7.
Evanthe will be staying at Becket Keys to study
Mandarin, Media Studies and Religion and Philosophy.
Joshua will be staying at Becket Keys to study
Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Mathematics.
Esme Hodges and Gabriela Hristozova also performed at an impressive level, each with five Grade 9s, four
Grade 8s and one Grade 7.
Esme will be staying at our Sixth Form to study Music, Politics and
Mandarin.
Gabriela will be staying with Becket Keys to study Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Further
Mathematics.
Jaye Adenuga achieved four Grade 9s, five Grade 8s and one Grade 7. He will be either staying at Becket Keys
or moving to a grammar school to study Economics, Mathematics, Physics and Further Mathematics.
Ella Jade
Patel achieved five Grade 9s, three Grade 8s and two Grade 7s. She will be studying Design and Technology,
Mathematics, Psychology and Further Mathematics.
Kaitlyn Bell achieved six Grade 9s, one Grade 8 and two
Grade 7s. She will be studying Mathematics, Biology and Media Studies.
